Steve's Story
Several years ago I traveled to Central America as an eMi volunteer in order to help design a modest Christian primary school campus. It was my first trip to the developing world and it was there in the tiny war torn country of Guatemala that my perspective concerning the purpose for my Christian life changed. A few trips later and five years ago my wife Melinda, my two daughters, Sophia and Madeline, and I accepted a staff position with eMi EA based in Uganda, Africa. Then 2½ years ago I accepted a remote assignment position as a Construction Manager for a Christian Primary School located on the coast of Lake Victoria in a small trading center called Nkumba, Uganda. Though in many ways life is more difficult for my family and me, working so closely with Ugandan men and women has proven to be very encouraging. Since my family has expanded by two; Melinda and I now have four little girls Sophia Danielle 7, Acimodo Janet 7, Madeline Grace 5, and Kisaakye Hannah 2…our most treasured blessings.

A Verse to Live By
Job 38:4-6 NIV
4 "Where were you when I laid the earth's foundation?
Tell me, if you understand.
5 Who marked off its dimensions? Surely you know!
Who stretched a measuring line across it?
6 On what were its footings set,
or who laid its cornerstone-
I certainly was not there. These verses encourage me to continue serving the Lord despite how bleak this world may appear to be.
