Project Scope
The "Pacific Academy Outreach Society" (PAOS) was formed in 1992 as the outreach of the students and staff of a Canadian Christian school in British Columbia, the Pacific Academy. Over the years the number and range of ministries has steadily expanded as the board and leadership have committed themselves to fulfilling the vision "To be Global Servants in Christian Education". As a result of their outstanding work in Kibaale, Uganda their work has been recognized by the government and leadership in Uganda and PAOS has been requested to give input into the national curriculum for public school and teacher training. Now they are expanding their work to the Masaka area and have obtained 50 acres of land upon which to start the Timothy Centre.
The Timothy Centre exists to provide education for the next generation of Ugandans. Over 50% of the population is under the age of 15. There is a desperate need for quality Christian education for this generation of Ugandans. The focus of the school will be for senior secondary school girls providing academically capable but socially disadvantaged young women a quality education with a Christian Foundation. In addition, they will focus on training Christian School teachers and principals, training local farmers, equipping people with skills necessary to develop sustainable businesses and providing training in ethics and leadership.
We need an EMI team of engineers and architects to prepare a master plan and full design of the initial phase buildings for PAOS. Would you consider joining the team to design a facility to bring quality Christian education and training to the people of Uganda?
