Project Scope
Miracle House, Inc. began with obedience to a simple question, "How about an orphanage here?" In the summer of 2005, God spoke this question to the heart of Deanna Bjork while she was riding through Misri slum in Limuru, Kenya, knowing that her "yes" would begin an incredible journey. After connecting with Sammy Nyaranga, a Kenyan pastor whose heart had drawn him to the vision of the ministry, a small metal building was rented. On September 11, 2006, 25 of the neediest children from the nearby slum were accepted into a day program that would provide them with clothing, food and an education.

As thiese original children grew physically and developed spiritually, Miracle House sought to expand it's influence in the lives of the children of Kenya. So, in January of 2008, a second building was constructed in the western Kenyan town of Webuye and 30 children were accepted into the home, again caring for the children during the day. Now, with two day facilities in full operation, the vision of bringing the children into the home to live permanently became the focal point. Miracle house decided to act out in faith in order to realize this goal, and in June of 2008, a 10-acre plot in Nakuru, located about halfway between the two existing sites, was selected. In February 2009, the purchase of this land was finally completed.

The plans for this land center around the original vision of the ministry: caring for children. The site will serve as the base camp for the ministry, with housing for between 2-300 children, a chapel, education rooms where life skills can be taught, agriculture and animal husbandry facilities to grow food and train the children in these life-skills, and a mission house where teams from the West can come to serve on short-term trips with the ministry.

We are looking for a civil engineer to assist in the water and wastewater system design, an agricultural engineer to consult with them on how best to use their fertile land, and a graphic designer to help with promotional materials and the design report.

Miracle House, Inc. has set out to be the hands of Christ reaching out to the physically and spiritually poor children of Kenya. Will you consider joining our team in coming alongside Miracle House in having an eternal impact on the lives of the young people of Kenya? Ten days on the plains of western Kenya miles north of the Serengeti awaits those who would answer 'yes' to the call of using your talents and abilities to advance the Kingdom of God on the other side of the world!
